We had ventured out to cut brush. It was just before the weather made the dramatic switch to tolerable. It was hot, unbearably humid and my camera had fogged up in obvious protest. So while I waited a long hour for the fog to clear, I scouted around looking for willing photo subjects. And that’s when I spotted several tree toads sitting in a clump of Black Locust trees.

This is the one that waited for me.
